Fall colors around Greensboro

Last weekend in the mountains we didn't find very impressive colors - the leaves seem to have gone from pale green directly to the ground - but this weekend around Greensboro was much better.
This is a lake (nicely named "Fishing Pond #2") in Greensboro's Bur-Mil County Park. The picture is a panoramic stitch of three frames.

The park has a lot of nice hiking and biking trails that eventually lead to the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, another very nice park that is in a way the "Central Park" of Greensboro.

This cemetery (Forest Lawn C.) is right next to Guilford NMP. Sometimes I feel strange about taking pictures in cemeteries, it seems like it's a little bit disrespectful, but there were quite a few people doing it this time, so at least I was able to blend in.

To the north of Greensboro, close to the border with Virginia, are some nice rural areas, with their share of cute abandoned houses like this one. We actually did find a couple of nicer ones, but we were abruptly chased off the property by an angry local. I do not post those pictures for fear of retribution. They have shotguns and I think they took my license plate number.
